Any Advice on speeding up a Birth Certificate application?

HI

We urgently need a full birth certificate for immigration purposes. however South Africa House in London states that it will take anything from 5 months to a few years to get the documentaion....

Are there any agencies that undertake to get the Certificates on behalf of an applicant?

Hoping like mad that there is.....
Thanks for your help

Do you have any family/friends in S.A. that can get it for you from Home Affairs?

Hi there,
Ask your mom to phone this number and querie the progress.
(012 - 810 8900)
It might be better to re apply at home affairs. Your application is most probably lost in the system.
The current cost is R45.00
Good luck.

You can do the whole fingerprint thing in the uk and have it send home. My clearances only took about a month. Where in SA does your mom live?

Not to really make your day, but you may also need an unabridged marriage certificate (if applicable to you.. )

Have just done the Finger print thing and spent the £30 on the bank charges involved in getting the bankers drafts... now we just have to wait!

But at least we have the marriage certificates!!

thanks for your advice!

I presume that you only need unabridged copy of your birth certificate.
If so, I got mine in CT in less than 2-3 months.
I can give you the details of a company in CT that can handle the admin side of the process (they send it off and follow up on it for about R100).
Let me know if you need info.

Hi, seen you on the NZ forum.
My husband's mom got his (full birth Cert) in less than the 10 weeks quoted from their local Dept of Home Affairs in CT. She got the shortened version in about 1 week. To do it from UK was going to be about 5 months. Ask her to try again.

Hi guys,

Try this outfit:

We used them to get a number of documents when my wife came to the states. Birth Certificate, Police clearance etc. They were quick and fairly reasonable...Good luck.....
