Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario requirements
Has the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario changed it's requirements for US CPAs ?
This is what their website stated 4 days ago;
Q 34: I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the United States. What is required in order to be licensed in Ontario?
A: To apply for membership in the Institute on the basis of being a CPA in good standing with a state board of accountancy in the United States with which the Institute has reciprocity (CA-CPA Reciprocity), you must have, while a resident of a country other than Canada, written all parts of The Uniform CPA Examination and completed at least two years (24 months) of acceptable public or other accounting experience within the United States of America or, if completed in whole or in part outside of the United States of America, that has been accepted for credit by the particular state board of accountancy. If you meet these requirements, you will be exempted from the education and examination requirements of the CA qualification program in Ontario. You will be required to successfully complete the CA Reciprocity Examination (CARE) and, if necessary, complete a period of prescribed public accounting experience in an approved training office in Ontario. For non-recognized boards of accountancy (boards that have not granted reciprocity to Institute members), please review the applicable other requirements for admission to membership in the Institute, at Occupational Career Path . Re: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario requirements
Maybe ask them if they have really changed their policy?
