Default ICAP (Institute of CA of Pakistan) >ICAEW>ICAA

HI,

I am waiting for my result from ICAP and then i am planning to do ICAEW, as ICAP and ICAEW has MRA. I only had to appear the 2 final papers and case study to get my membership from ICAEW. As for as practical experience is concerned i have worked with Ernst&young for more than 4 years in my capacity as student of ICAP and ICAEW accepts that.

Eventually i am planning to move to Australia. For this i was told by lots of people that i need some local qualification.

I am planning to get ICAA after passing my ICAEW as they both mutually recognisee eachother.

Now i am not sure ICAA will accept my qualification as i have chosen a MRA path to get ICAEW.

Not sure what to do. Please advice

Thanks

I might not be reading you correctly, but you cannot hop from one accounting organisation to another by utilising MRA. i.e if you get ICAEW through mutual recognition you would not be able to then get ICAA because of its mutual recognition with ICAEW.

And it is completely untrue that you need to have a local qualification. I don't and none of the many overseas qualified accountants I work with do either.
