Default Best Paying Country for Accountants

Hi,

Not wishing to sound too mercenary, but which country offers the best pay for accountants at the current time?

Im ACCA, presently living in London, working as a management accountant in the public sector on £45k sterling. No recent audit experience.

Thanks in advace for any comments.

Impossible to answer a question like that:

- you've got to consider taxes, cost of living and quality of life
- you may need to be prepared to get a local qualification, as ACCA is not fully recognised everywhere
- as a new immigrant you will be at a disadvantage in the local labour market.
- Some public sector jobs overseas require citizenship, not just permanent residence
- in some areas your work experience will not match the market demands (eg in Alberta or Western Australia, many of the best jobs are in the energy/resources sector).

If you want to migrate somewhere, and you already live in a developed Western country, it's usually advisable to do so for reasons other than money. Or you could consider relocating elsewhere in the UK where costs are lower than London.
