Logan City, Queensland

Logan City lies at the heart of the fastest growing area in Australia; south-east Queensland. A young city, Logan enjoys remarkable ethnic diversity and is home to people from 160 different countries.

Given its central geographic location and available young workforce, Logan has thriving commercial, retail and manufacturing precincts, as well as healthy service and wholesale industries. Retail is the largest sector, followed by construction, property, business services and manufacturing.

Logan is ideally located between Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast, and has easy access to the national highway and rail networks and the Port of Brisbane. As such, it has thriving light industrial precincts at Marsden, Crestmead, Slacks Creek and Loganholme, which are continuing to expand to accommodate clean, green industries.

There are more than 200 sporting and recreation clubs, 450 environmental and recreational parks, pristine bushland reserves and wetlands and manicured waterfront parks along the Logan River. The natural environment is an important part of life in Logan as it forms part of the important Koala Coast.

Logan also has a range of attractions that capture the city's history and cultural diversity. Visitors can step back in time at Logan's oldest home, Mayes Cottage, in Kingston, wander through the tranquil gardens of the Chung Tian Buddhist Temple at Priestdale, view exhibitions at the Logan Art Gallery enjoy performances at the Kingston Butter Factory's Butterbox Theatre or visit the Butter Factory's Historic Museum, or see live bands at the Logan Entertainment Centre.

The city is home to the Logan Campuses of Griffith University and Logan TAFE. It also has one of the country's top international schools; John Paul College.

One of Queensland's most affordable housing markets, Logan offers a range of living environments that include new housing estates in suburbs such as Crestmead and Underwood, and leafy, established suburbs such as Shailer Park and Tanah Merah.
