Examples of salaries and packages:

Accountant postions are relatively low paying. eg: Financial Controller, who is also a Chartered Accountant (Indian), works 6 days a week 10-15 hours a day, and is paid 5000 DHS per month, no benefits.

Just what is a good salary? - Live comfortably, be able to participate in sports, go out + save $ and pay the mortgage back home, AND come back with some cash (hopefully)

To give you an idea, how does 25000 dhs/mo + housing (to 75000dhs pa) + car + airfares sound for a senior manager type position?

Responses:

  • Housing needs to be a little more i would say, esp if you have kids, + you will need school fees, plus all depends on what type of company it is, industry wise that is.
  • Depends on where home is, how big your mortgage is back there, how often you want to eat out, where you want to live, what sort of car are they going to give you, how often will they pay your airfare, how many children you have etc etc. The 25,000 Dhs bit looks about right but the housing allowance will only get you a one or two bedroom flat in the better areas, and you have to allow for electricity and water on top.
  • Not particularly good - housing is way too low if u have kids u want to look at 80K-100K+ for a decent place

60K a year upwards will get you a home in Dubai Municipality tax 5% of rent. Elec and water bill in the summer can be horrendous if in a villa. Schools range from 10 - 48k a year Think of pension payments!!! What about moving out here costs Medical cover / insurance is a must

ps...... 60K a year upwards will get u a home in Dubai.... doesn't really need to be as high as that.... perhaps with kids, you need a bigger place, so 80K a year should suffice.
