ViewsDenver, COFrom WikiGetting there. Denver's only airport is Denver International Airport; most major airlines have flights into this airport, including direct flights to London's Heathrow on British Airways. Most other airlines however, fly into Chicago's O'Hare Airport before catching a connecting flight to DIA. Once at DIA, you are approximately 30 minutes from the city of Denver. The easiest route to get to the city is by exiting the airport onto Pena Boulevard and take the left exit onto the I-70 West; followed by exit #274 onto the I-25 South, heading towards Colorado Springs and then exit at Colfax Avenue (#210A) and take a left onto Colfax Avenue and you will arrive in downtown Denver. If you are heading north towards Boulder or Fort Collins; then simply take the I-70 West followed by the I-25 North. For Boulder exit the I-25 onto U.S. 36. If you do not have your own transportation, then the cheapest alternative is to take the Super Shuttle; it will cost you $10 per person to get to the city. Getting around Denver and the Metro area. Denver is one of the United State's most walkable cities and a vehicle is not needed for downtown visits. The downtown area is served by the free mall ride on 16th Street, which stops at every intersection between Union Station and 16th Avenue. If you do have a vehicle and wish to travel outside of the downtown area, then Colfax Avenue, Broadway and Speer will take you to where you want to go with direct routes to both the I-25 and I-70 which will take you both North/South and East/West. You really cannot get lost in Denver. Things to do in Denver General:

If you are into water sports then head down south and venture onto the white waters of the Arkansas River or head to Clear Creek Country.
