The Bilingual Middleschool Zurich has both a bilingual Progymnasium (7th and 8th grades, without Latin) and a bilingual lower school of the Gymnasium (7th and 8th grades). This means that the Bilingual Middleschool Zurich in collaboration with Freies Gymnasium Zürich now offers six years of bilingual education in the Gymnasium (Swiss long Gymnasium), right through to the state-recognised Swiss Bilingual Matura. Teaching is based on the curriculum of the Canton of Zurich and is in accordance with the immersion principle, with equal amounts of German and English. As a result, the Bilingual Middleschool Zurich (BMZ) can offer an education that combines two languages, cultures and pedagogic traditions.
