Good afternoon British Expats,

The saga for me getting to Canada continues, with no word from IEC I then aimed for the more appealing express entry. The latest updates would mean that I require a job offer in writing to successfully be invited for PR.

I have hit a bit of a snag with the job offer as I have a company which would quite happily give me the job offer in writing for a k9 security job but this is a NOC C as it doesn't take into account the specialism of being a handler.

My question is does anyone know of any information which could get this to a NOC code B the website is down at the moment but I'm sure even a dog groomer is a B!!!

Please help as I feel this company are more than satisfied with my resume and sincerely want me over working with them.

Just to be clear, you need more than just a written job offer, you also need a LMIA (or a LMIA exempt work permit i.e. a company transfer TWP) to claim the 50-200 points for arranged employment under EE.

So the company will also need to apply for a LMIA for you, and to get one of those they have to prove that they couldn't find a Canadian willing, or able, to do the job, and that you have the requisite skills and experience to do it. So I'm sorry, but trying to get a LMIA for a job you don't have any experience of (i.e. a dog groomer) isn't going to work. Unless of course you do actually have the skills and experience required for a dog groomer!

Also remember that if you want to claim points for work experience under EE, that must also be 'skilled', so if you've been doing a job that CIC consider semi-skilled, you won't get any points for that (and may not even be eligible to apply at all).

Can you let us know your actual NOC code, and how many years experience you have doing it? Any other jobs you did previously too?

Hopefully you can find a NOC code that fits your skills and is Skill Level A, O or B, and hopefully the employer is happy to apply for the LMIA for you.

I'm a NOC B police constable with 4 years service, I always have 1 year retail management experience which I believe is an A.
