steel formwork carpenter need advice.
Hi there am new to this whole forum thing so bare with me.
I recently received the news I have been waiting on I got my LMIA.
My wife and I will be moving to Vancouver on the 16th Feb.
I start my job on the 1st of March a day this brings to the point of this post.
I am a finishing carpenter and have been for the last 9 years. I am going to work for a steel formwork company and have never done it before.
The company knows this and have been great with me and are going to do training etc. Since I got the news about the LMIA I have been studying non stop on formwork as not to go over a total novice.
They have said on the first day to bring a tool belt, steel toe boots and a basic tool kit.
This is the information am after what does a basic tool kit for a formwork carpenter actually include?
As i don't want to turn up totally unprepared.
Any advice, tips or good website to help out would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi buddy I'm still in UK so this is a bit of a guess , but having done formwork on stairs , pillars , lintel forming etc I would suggest you buy there , good quality and cheap , less hassle getting thru customs etc , I brought an axe back in luggage once , oh dear , I would get 24oz Vaughan framing hammer ,large rafter square (triangular type) , 4ft folding square ,4ft level or 6ft if you can manage ,7tpi 22 inch handsaw ,screwdriver set , large superbar vaughan,1/2 inch socket set ,molegrips ,2x strong clamps deep throat say 8inch long ,lump hammer maybe , obviously may need other stuff but that lot should sort you for a while , I'm a big Vaughan fan lol , hope this helps good luck and enjoy.
