Default researcher wanting to move......anywhere

Hi everyone,
I've been working in the UK now for several years in the field of climate research (university-based). I have both a degree and PhD in this field, and am now thinking of a change of scenery. I have gone through different online visa qualification sites, namely Aus, NZ, and Canada, but don't seem to make the cut (I should add that I'm in my early 30s). So, my question really is..does anyone have any suggestions for me on what I should target and how? I realise I'm being extremely vague here, but really what I'm looking for is a move abroad where the skills I have will give me a good chance of getting a job (I'll add also that the research I do involves a lot of IT/programming work but my official qualifications are not in IT). As I say, I know this is all very vague but even a few pointers of advice would be good. Thanks in advance.
