Engineering/technition in California
Arrived in California on a K1 visa in December. Have gotten fairly settled now and although I cannot work just yet I am looking at a few jobs online.
I worked as a welder and machinist and composite laminator in the renewable energy sector back in the UK. I also have experience in programming and running a CNC router. I also did an apprenticeship in welding. Can anyone possibly shed some light as to how in demand these types of jobs are here? Will I need to get re-certified? Thanks guys |

Hello!
I'm in a similar boat to you, different career/industry though. Are you a member of a professional institute at all? I got some information from my UK one about the equivalents in the US and called them to talk about what I would need to do to become 'certified' to a similar level in the US. |

No I am not part of a professional institute, I think I will look into that though. What is your line of work if you don't mind me asking? |
