Default civil engineer job in usa?

hello, I'm wondering wether I Can work in the u.s. with a civil engineering title from a danish university, I've heard its quite complicated and there are a lot of exams to prove my knowledge.
Anyone with some experience can enlighten me a bit perhaps?

50 states...50 requirements to get certified.

A lot of them would be starting from scratch though.

Super late to this but in case it comes up in future I'll answer. In the states to be a civil engineer you'll need to be licensed Professional Engineer. This is done State by State so you could theoretically be licensed in all 50 states but most are only licensed in one or perhaps two states. Getting P.E status varies depending on a lot of things and as Bob states it;s state by state but in general for a foreign degree it takes quite a lot of work to get P.E status with a lot of exams.
