Hello
Yes I've come accross hundreds of sponsored welders and boilermakers.
A lot of the fab shops in Perth now have a large number of asian sponsored "tradesmen".
As I mentioned earlier Specialised Welding are currently sponsoring from the UK. (Sorry Kaye I Know they didn't get back to you but I've been talking to a Scotish lad, from your husbands welding forum, and he's having medicals for them soon).
Here's another link I found it may be of some use but I don't know anything about them.

Just wanted to say how helpful I found this thread. My OH is a welder and we are hoping to get sponsorship to emigrate to Brisbane.
We have been talking to Workforce and they seem pretty genuine - we are just waiting for them to set up some interviews via Skype. Obviously I can't say anything definate about them until this happens but so far so good!
If anybody knows of any other companies that sponsor welders that would great to know as it always helps to keep your options open. I have mailed Specialised Welding.
Is there anyone else in the same position as us? OH has been welding for over 18 years (first 15 for same company), has trade certificates but no formal training as required by TRA?
Are there any other options apart from sponsorship?
Regards
Nikky

Hello Kaye
Yes it's a bit chilly here at the moment and only forcast to reach 23c today.
If you give us a bell when you get out here I'll sort out that barbie. I'm not that good at barbies in fact the last one we had I ran out of gas half way through and had to leave about 30 guests hungry whilst I tried to get a new bottle.
I'm sure us locals can wrap up whilst you foriegners can strut about in shorts and T shirts.

My OH worked as a welder when we were over in Perth. Had two jobs in Kwinana. If interested I will PM the company names to you. Both were good companies and good wages as well.

Do these companies offer sponsorship?
If so I would appreciate it if you could PM me.
Thanks

I do have to say that you need to pester the HR department as they are not very quick at processing applications.
I know this isn't much help for you Nikky but good luck with it all.
