Vancouver dreaming
Hello all!
I am new to this site and generally not very familiar with forums so I hope I get this right
I currently live in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, with my boyfriend and young daughter. I moved here for university 18 years ago and although I like it, we want to experience somewhere new. We visited Vancouver 2 years ago and loved it.
I currently look after my young daughter but my past has many jobs, including 10 years as a Government statistician.
My boyfriend is still a Government statistician and has spent the last 18 months trying to find a job in Canada with no luck whatsoever.
We were all set to apply for the federal skilled worker visa scheme when it reopened in May, only to find the occupation list had changed and he was no longer covered (ah well!)
It's quite frustrating as we tick all the boxes - language, education, age (just! ) but my boyfriend hasn't been able to find anything. So we're considering all options!
I hope that explains me and why I'm on here in a nutshell. Any advice very much appreciated!
Vicki

Re: Vancouver dreaming
Hello and welcome to the forum . Thanks for introducing yourself in the Welcome Inn.
Yes, it's not so easy obtaining visas to live and work abroad. Plenty of patience required
If you're still pursuing with Vancouver, then do check out the Canada section on this forum and post some questions and join in with some existing threads. They're a helpful bunch of folks. I'm sure they can give you some advice.
If not......just dip in and visit some other country sections on here.
All the best with your plans....whatever they turn out to be.
