UK to NY USA
Hi
About to start the next chapter in my life by moving across the pond through my husband's work. We will be carrying a couple of munchkins and lots of baggage no doubt!
I'm excited and scared half to death at the ever decreasing time scale (looking like end of July) and the amount of sorting of junk I am wailing through in order to thin our belongings, but hey it needed doing years ago I guess I'm better at procrastinating.
I have digested a lot from you guys already on here and will continue to do so and hopefully you'll be able to steady my already unsettled nerves as time goes by.
Many thanks in advance!

Hi...welcome to BE.
I see you have already posted in the US forums. We have quite a few members living in NYC...I am sure they will do their best to answer any questions you may have about the area.
Please give me a shout if you have any site related problems.
Good luck with the move.

hello, welcome to BE!
They say knowledge feeds confidence and this is a great place to ask all those niggly questions and unknowns that contribute to the 'scared half to death' part
Re: sorting all your belongings ready for the move check out this thread with some tips for de-cluttering (http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=791781) - and my top tip? leave plenty of time for the sorting.... you've got to make time for all the memories!
