UK couple moving to France
Hi there
Just thought i'd say hello, explain our situation and hopefully get some advice and in time, give advice myself
My girlfriend and I (she's Irish and i'm English) are buying a plot of land in the Dordogne to build a house (that's the plan anyway). We're also thinking of B and B and a gite.
We have agreed a price for the land and have contacted a notaire (he's not returned two emails...). I have a list of people (professions/trades etc) I need in the Dordogne region if anyone can recommend anyone?
I'm a roofer, I also ran a solar firm for five years and am looking to get back into this in France with a plumber, as well as doing roofing/building. My girlfriend was a police officer in Belfast for 11 years and moved to London to work in TV/Film.
I'm also into classic cars (i've a '71 Corvette, my Dad has a '51 Studebaker), so i'll be interested in other people with classic cars, garages, shows etc.
I will write a more detailed thread in the France section
Cheers!
Aaron and Catherine
