Re: Swede planing to move and work in USA or Canda
Welcome to BE Matt.
The people who post in our US Immigration Forms tend not to recommend the use of agencies. I do not have access to my computer at the moment...but in a hour or so I will post some useful links for you.

Welcome to BE and good luck!
As for the US, immigration lawyer or nothing....agencies would be a scam, no idea about Canada.

That link is a good summary of the ways into the US

The US is one of the most difficult countries to move to...but take a look at the link Bob posted...if you fit into one of the categories you may be in with a chance. After you've read that I suggest you pop over to the US Immigration forum. The regulars posters in that forum will do all they can to answer any questions you may have.
It is much easier to move to Canada and we have an excellent Canada Immigration forum. The people who post in that forum are very helpful...I'm sure they will do their best to answer your questions about moving to Canada.
Before you begin to post please take a look at the US and Canada sections of the BE Wiki. I think you'll find lots of great information in The Wiki. Also please take a little time to read through the stickied threads or announcements that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.
Please get back to me if you need any further help with the site.

Having a sisters that live in the US and are US citizens is certainly one road into the US...if they are willing to sponsor you and your wife. You will have a long wait for a visa though...at present I believe it's a decade or more.

Hello and welcome to BE.
You are correct it is very very difficult to move to the US unless you are a USC or married to one. Take a read through this...if you fit into any of the categories then you may have a chance of obtaining a US visa.
I suggest you take a look at our Canada forums...you will see from the link that we have an excellent Immigration forum for Canada. Please post questions about the actual immigration/visa process in there...for all other questions about Canadian life please use the General forum.
You will find lots of relevant information about both countries (and others) in the BE Wiki.
Good luck.
