Scottish people moving to California!
Hello everyone!
My family and I obtained our L1/2 visas last week and we are setting off to start our new lives in California soon.
I will be working in the Bay Area at my company's HQ. We hope to move to Pleasanton which seems like a nice town, though I discovered recently that it hosts a huge Highland Games every year. Just when I thought I'd escaped bagpipes and tartan forever!
I've lurked on this site for a while and want to thank all the posters for their helpful advice.
Cheers, miggy

Well done for coming out of lurking mode.
I'm sure that you can find your way to the right forums but if you get stuck, sing out, someone will help.
Enjoy B.E.

Hello...welcome to BE.
We have a number of members living in California...they usually hang out in the US Forums. Why don't you pop over there and take a look around. Our members will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about moving to the US.
I look forward to seeing you in the US Forums.

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
