Question Possibly moving to Lanzarote

Hello I am Dangle. My husband and I are thinking of retiring to Lanzarote. We really loved it a few years ago when holidaying in Puerto Del Carmen. Usual questions and advice needed really if anyone has the time would appreciate a response or responses! We are wondering about how health care is covered when living in Lanzarote. Is it the same as living in the UK i.e. do you receive treatment if you have paid your NI contributions etc?

What are the best areas of the island to live. We would like to live near other brits if poss. I am a little shy and find it harder to socialise than my husband but I am willing to give it a go. Any suggestions would be really welcome and if you would recommend us moving there as we really don't know much about it at all other than we really liked it!

We went there once for Christmas-(somewhere warmer than the UK) and we hated it. There was just nothing to do or see- personally I'd rather lick the pavement than spend the rest of my life there. You need to find a place where there's life-things to see and places to go, mix with locals and immerse yourself in another lifestyle-then you will have fun.

Hi Dangle and welcome to the forum I went to Lanzarote many years ago....nice place and very nice climate year round.

Do check out the Spain forum on here. That's the best place to get any advice about living in Lanzarote from those who are living there, and not from those who are living somewhere else

Happy planning.

Frankly, Connie, we are all different. What works for you might not work for Dangle, so I don't think your reply is terribly helpful, is it. In case you haven't noticed, this is the Welcome Inn.

Lanzarote or North Wales? Wow, that would be a tough choice, wouldn't it?

North Wales has plenty to offer apart from sunshine-which is why we left
