Default Newbie off to WI

Hi everyone,

We recently found out that my OH has been offered a position in Madison, WI. Mostly we're really excited about the move, but part of me keep wondering what on earth we're doing!

We have 3 young daughters and 2 dogs. We are getting a relocation package but are waiting to find out exactly what that includes. Any pieces of advice would be very welcome!

I hope I don't bore you all with my thousands of questions!

Welcome to BE Bear10. When are you hoping to move across the pond?

We have several excellent US forums that I think you will find very useful. The US Immigration and Visas forum...is the place to post any questions you have about the actual immigration process in that forum. General questions about life in the US should be posted in the US Forum. The Trailer Park is for general chit chat.

Please take time to take a look in the BE Wiki...it's a great source for information. You will find a section containing suggestions of things to include in your relo package plus lots more useful information to help adjust to your new life. Also please read through any stickied threads that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.

If you require any assistance finding your way around BE's many forums we have a team of concierges who will act as your tour guide...they will be pleased to help you. The concierge for the US forums is Kaffy Mintcake...please contact her if you need pointing in the right direction.

Any problems or concerns should be addressed to a mod or admin. The mods for the US Immigration forums are Noorah101, Bob, MsElui, avanutria and penguinsix.

Please give me a shout if I can be of further help. I look forward to seeing you in the US forums.

Hi and thank you for the welcome- I've just been browsing through the wiki.

We think OH will start end of Jan/Feb, but not yet sure if we'll all move out together.

Hi Bear10

A fellow Hampshire person I see - I live in Hants too. Whereabouts are you?

I see you have found the USA forum, where you will find plenty of good advise and information to help.

That just leaves me to say welcome to BE and good luck with your move.

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
