Help required - Do beneficiaries of a will have to go to Spain to claim?
Please can anyone help, we brought our dad and his wife back from spain sue to ill health they have both sadly passed away, there was and english will my brother in law is executor, the house in spain is sold and the money is in spanish bank, solicitor has dragged heels for months everything supposed to be sorted now she says all beneficeries have to go to Spain to claim, this is mainly the grandchildren at £500 or less with her fees each and nowhere to stay, is this right I read they can all get a form in uk from Embassy. Solicitor says no, nearly all the money has now been eaten up by hers and the Spanish fees how can the grandchildren get any money and my Brother in law get any of the funeral expenses and fees back he has had to pay out which is runnnign at several thousand as dad came back with nothing at all, all they had left was the house with was also mostly owed to a company. Is the solicitor right or taking us for a ride, does anyone know? Plea Thankyou

Re: Help required
Thankyou Rosemary, We asked the solicitor about the FIA Numbers she said they still have to all attend, will be costly and a struggle as two grandchildren are under 3, one at school and the others are working so will cost them all quite a lot to get there probably more that their inheritance for flight and accommodations but the Solicitor claims its the only way my Brother-in-Law will get any of his expenses back, we appointed her last June and it goes on.....Miss dad loads and this is not helping.
