Default Moving to San Francisco

Hi all, myself, my wife and my 1 year old daughter will be moving to San Francisco next year in March/April with my company to open up a new office. We have applied for our Visa's via an intercompany transfer and perceive no issue with this. I was wondering where are the good, safe places to live around SF for a young family? I accept traffic will be an issue but I am willing to live with a 60-90 minute commute to and from the office, which we think will be situated in the CBD.
Also, can anyone recommend any websites/forums that my wife could join to meet other expat wives/new mums etc so she can get a bit of a head start in settling in.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to the forum
San Francisco, one of my favourite cities :-)

You're going to enjoy it ... I have found it an extremely relaxed place, which sounds strange considering what it is. I love going there.

Cant help with the areas to live, but if you post on the US forum section I am sure you will find lots of advice. Good luck

Welcome to BE and good luck!

If you have a search, there are loads of threads to get you started though.

End of the day, it all depends on your budget and how long you can stand to be stuck in a car as far as a commute and then the importance of the quality of schools.

As for groups, there's FB and meetup.com which usually have loads of groups for that sort of thing.
