Default Moving to Fuerteventura

Hi - we are a retired couple relocating from Malta to Fuerteventura. We have loads of queries, so would be hugely appreciative of any help. Basically, do we have to have our UK pensions paid into a local bank account in order to qualify for free local health care... and are these basic UK pensions subject to tax?
Also, as one of us is crazy about Serie A football, is it possible to watch any live Italian football on the internet? Are there any local channels showing Italian football on TV ? How much is the internet?
Thanks in advance, to anyone living in Corellejo or El Cotillo for any local knowledge......we will be renting and hope to move in a few months. Any shipping recommendations also appreciated.

You should be able to get free healthcare via the S1 form from Newcastle, but, in order tobecome residents and signed on as such, you would need to prove you had a certain amount of money coming in each month. Getting your pensions paid direct into a Spanish bank is the best option as they are not allowed to make any charges on the transfer, and the rate is usually somewhat better than just trasnferring when you want.
Fuerte being where it is, you are unlikely to get any satellite coverage other than Spanish, not sure whether they do Italian football.

Not sure of Internet prices, but you could look in Google, however there has been a lot of discussion on a fuerte forum about speeds being very variable, with most people saying they just can't get the promised 10mb speed, some only getting less than 2.

Hello there and welcome to the forum

Do check out the Spain section of the forum. That's really the best place to connect with other folks in Spain and you may find one or two living in Fuerteventura I imagine. If you have trouble finding the Spain forums, just shout and someone will give you a hand.

This section is just for introductions and, as you will see, you will find folks from all around the globe in here.
