Montenegro...
 

Can anyone give us advice on the pro's & con's on moving to Bar, Montenegro? We have read as much info as we possibly can from searching the net but this is very limited.
We would ideally like to speak with someone who knows the land, people and culture well as if we were to move there we would like to live as they do and learn their ways.

Any information really would be appreciated as we have time on our side.

Hi Wexley, we are just back from four moths on the Adriatic. We spent a month of that in Mont. Our favourite place in Mont is Bar. We are not into touristy towns.

We are seriously considering buying there also.

Have you visited Montenegro yet?

In the short time we where there we discovered two kinds of people, normal people getting on with their lives and people who seen us as a meal ticket.
They are not overly friendly nor helpful as some nations are. We viewed a few properties and enquired about one. What amazed me was the agent seemed to know nothing about the property. This may have been a one off but i have never known such poor service. Their over all customer service IMO is very poor in cafe, bars etc.

Hi and thank you for the info.

We have actually decided against a move to Montenegro as all feedback from different people has been mostly negative. We was going to do the same and spend a few months travelling the surrounding countries near and around the Adriatic, in fact we still might!! But our moving plans have been shelved for the time being.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
