Military Background Check
Can anyone help me - I am looking into hiring a guy who claims to be ex-SAS and I need to get a background check done on him. I am a Brit living in the USA. Thanks.

Re: Military Background Check
Ask him what colour the "Shed" was in Hereford. Always catches most people out.
Failing that PM me his CV and i will be able to tell right away if he is a bullshitter or not.
Not Ex SAS myself but 9 years in the Armed Forces including time attached with them in Northern Ireland and Bosnia and i will be able to rip his CV to bits for you if he is a dreamer.
Unless the job you are advertising is involved in the Security Business/Close Protection area then most Ex SAS guys would never mention their service.
If you are advertising for something completely different then chances are he is a Civvie talking crap.

Chances are he is making it up if it is a low level security job why even mention it?
You and i know most guys like to play the "Grey Man" and would never volunteer such information about their past freely.
Ask him specific questions like the colour of the shed, name of the mess hall, local boozers stuff only people who have spent time in H will know.
Another good one If he was a pad ask him which estate he lived on with his missus and kids?
Do it face to face and you will know instantly if he is full of it.
Chances are he was just a REMF like the rest of us, attached to them...lol

Deffo sounds like a Walt.
A sure fire way of finding out is to go on ARRSE and ask around. They'll be some ex regiment guys there who you can PM.

He's a knob. Probably an ex-clerk or chef (if he was ever in any mob).
Don't hire him.
