Long journey ahead!

Hubby and I have just resurrected an old interest into moving with the kids to Australia and am hoping to find some help and advice here! Look forward to chatting with you.

Is there a pinned post or something that gives some general info about what sort of costs are involved, what steps are involved in applying for a visa & information on housing etc? For example is renting there similar to here? Do you rent until you find something to buy? Can we even get a mortgage there or would we have to rent? Sorry so many questions if there's a section specifically for this please direct me!

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
