Default Labour contract

I need an answer to my problem, my labour contract had expired last August 21, 2011 and my resident visa will expire next year on May, If I will shift another company, do I have any ban? my contract is unlimited and I worked since 2005 until now. I want to shift because the company has no sign to renew my contract because of the sponsor not showing his face, and I don't want to complain because my manager is a good person, I don't want him in trouble. Plz... I need answer.
