My first overseas job(as a civilian as opposed to RAF!!)was in Zambia mid 70s and like you were told to take everything!So we did ,and they were right as things were very hard to get ,my last purchase was a good Russian short wave radio which was a boon!!Also bought one of the first digital watches and calculators from Dixons!!Most people there had never seen one!No computers of course not then!What does your husband do?
