Hi All,
Just wanted to say hi...registered today, forums look great and sure they are a wealth of knowledge.
I am a Brit who has settled in Germany after serving here. Worked on the German net for a year but now looking for something new.
Hope to make some friends here along the way.
Mac.

Hi Mac,
Welcome to BE!! I hope you enjoy being part of our community.
Germany is a lovely country, great countryside food and beer (not forgetting the wine ). I lived in Hanover for a few years, many, many, many years ago.

Thank you all for your words.
Persephone, Yes i see how i wrote that :-) I have already settled in Germany. I spent many years here as a serving British Soldier. The something new in Germany is job wise.
I have already worked on the German net and now a registered 'German' The change from the forces was a bit of a shock to be honest. I am now looking for something new here and a challenge as well as learning the language more.
I am single and to be honest would go anywhere in the world for the right reasons, just so happens i am here. No interest in blighty i have to say.
In good true English fashion all the years here and i did not speak the language. Only in the last year i have learnt a good solid basic knowledge.
Thanks again all and if i need your help i will be sure to shout out :-)

Hi Mac & welcome to BE!
It's been a long time since I was last in Germany, but still have fond memories of Bremen and visiting relatives in Swartzwald.
All the best with your quest.
Cheers

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
