Hi everyone, I'm English and have lived in the US since 2008 - never thought to join a forum until now! My wife is English, both kids were born in the US. We're contemplating a move back to the UK...any advice/experience/words of warning would be appreciated - even if it's just a link to a thread on here I could read through and follow.

Nine years in the US and now looking to return home. There is a lot to consider when moving back and we have a lovely forum dedicated to just that purpose. Moving back to the UK - British Expats

All your questions will find answers there and you can hook up with some great folks who are wearing the "done that, been there" t-shirts.

Just as an aside, your children have dual citizenship. Have you and your wife naturalized? It would certainly make the move back to the US easier if you or one of the kids decides that US is home for them and move back.

thanks, appreciate the reply. I'll be sure to check out the forum, I'm sure it'll answer a lot of questions, and probably provoke a few more!

My wife and I are currently permanent residents, the green cards are valid until 2021. we're eligible to apply for naturalization, and would definitely want to complete that before making a move - we're thinking a move would be about 3/4 years away but wanted to start thinking through the consequenses sooner rather than later!
