Hi - Just joined, lived in US for 17yrs now
Hi there,
I found this site after a search for Black Pudding (I had my first taste in 20yrs yesterday at a restaurant...)
I'm Chris - originally from Oldham (well, Shaw) and I married my US Green Card back in '93 and emigrated. Settled outside Philadelphia and been there all the time since. Traveled around the US for business (NYC \ Boston \ DC \ Chicago \ San Francisco \ Seattle \ etc), so I've seen quite a lot of this place - I like it
Looking to stay in PA for another year of so while my kids finish up High School, then looking for a change - possibly to the West Coast.
I'm divorced from the 1st wife now, but the Green Card is on it's 2nd 10yr term (renews in 2016). Don't get home very often - looking at doing a trip this Summer with my lovely fiance who's never been to Europe.
Chris.

Hey,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Where in Yorkshire? I got my degree from Sheffield Hallam and worked for YTV in Leeds (where I got married and my son was born) before emigrating.

I loved Sheffield - I lived overlooking Endcliffe Park.
Lots of fun was had - '88-'92.
I have a couple of friends that are still there - I'm debating if I can slot in a trip out there when I'm home next (with that beautiful drive across the Peaks over the A57).

Wouldn't that imply that I consider them my Peers??
I'm not sure what I get from going Blue - I like the idea of being able to travel \ live anywhere in either continent. I'm more likely to come back to Blighty than sponsoring my family to come here.

Seriously - google up one of the many "should I or should I not take US citizenship" wikis.

Though for most here, the best reason is so they can leave and not get deported for a daft offence rather than bringing family over as it might be for other nations.
