hi BE. i'm new! Contemplating a move to the UK
hi all, and hi sue, and thx for telling me about the Welcome Inn. i've joined because i want to get as much information from the site as possible as we contemplate a move to the UK in a few years when i retire. i have only to convince my exPat husband! he moved to canada in 1966 (world cup year!), when he was 24. he has never had any desire to return to england, but i have always loved the country since i first visited as a young adventurer in the 1970s, and am very keen to retire there. altho' retirement is still a few years away for me (i am 56, will retire at age 63 or 64), i am just looking for a place where i can post questions as they arise. and there will be many, i am sure!
cheers & thx

Welcome to BE Jagg, best place for discussions on returning/retiring to the UK would be in the Returning to UK forum. http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=61
Lots of people in there having made the move and able to advise and support you.

Welcome to the forum Jagg. I hope you can convince your other half. I know it's a real problem sometimes when there's 2 of you and cannot agree. I have that with 2 friends here in Malaysia at the moment. One wants to go back to Europe to live. The other one wants to stay in Malaysia. Latest idea is living in Europe and having the odd holiday in Malaysia. Difficult. All the best
