Hi Folks
Hi everyone
New to this site and country.
I am from England, Hubby is working over here.
Don't know anyone, staying in condo (jail) in Mississauga but wanting to find house in Oakville area as I have been told that is a good place..
Heard there was a oakville meeting place for expats but cannot locate it..
any info welcome
thanks
Marie

Re: Hi Folks
Good Morning and welcome to BE
At first I wondered where is "here" and then I saw the reference to Oakville and knew it was Canada. Lovely country is our neighbor to the north and they produce some nice men, too. I'm married to one.
Before venturing out into the Canadian forums for advice and making friends, please have a read of the site rules found here: Site Rules | British Expatriate Community

I'm curious you live in a jail that has been converted to apartments? I've seen many schools in the US which were converted to condos but never a jail. Imagine the rooms are tiny. Good luck in finding a home in Oakville.
As for meet-ups, the Canada forum usually posts out a yell for a meet and greet occasionally in the general Canadian forums. Unlike some of the other forums there isn't a formal room set aside for just that purpose.
