Hi Everyone
Really nervous about going on here as I've never been on a forum before so unsure whether I am supposed to write here or elsewhere, but here goes.
My name is Denise, I am married to Dave definitely my lovely OH, we have 2 children our son Gareth aged 18yrs and our daughter Jennifer aged 22yrs. We are in the process of applying to Emigrate to New Zealand, preferably Cambridge, Waikato.
Although our daughter who initially was coming with us is now in a relationship and very happy and lives with her partner so no longer wishes to come ( a real heart wrench for us but she's happy and has a career to follow).
I am a Practice Nurse specialising in Chronic Respiratory problems and aim to do similar work in NZ, Dave is a marine Engineer, and Gareth aims to apply to Auckland Uni.
We are virtually there we have just been informed that our Application for a Residence Visa is currently being managed by a 'Queue Manager ' before being allocated a 'case officer' which could take up to 2 mths and then a final decision on our case is made after that taking up to a further 3 mths. It has certainly been a very lengthy process particularly relating to obtaining NZ nursing registration, that was a complicated process as I have been qualified for 28yrs.
My OH spent 5 years of his childhood in NZ and I always promised I would consider emigrating once kids were older (big mistake should of done it when they had no say ) So kids are older and here we are.
We have been to NZ touring twice once 2008 with the kids and again in 2009 just Dave and I.
Would really welcome ++++ info from anyone who is a Practice Nurse or working within Primary Health Care on working conditions / pay as I cannot find out what salaries are, or anyone who has any advise, or support what so ever, or live or are moving to Cambridge. I know its the right move as I fell in love with the area when we last visited, but as its getting nearer feeling really jittery

Hi Denise
Welcome to BE. You have definitely posted in the right place as posting here enables us to advise you on which forums will suit you and your needs.
I can fully understand you being jittery as the time approaches as it is a big move, but I hope you are feeling excited as well. I see our Jersey girl has advised you to get onto the NZ forum, where I am sure you will find lots of folks in the area you are moving to, who can both reassure you, as well as offer you lots of information to help your move go smoothly. They are a friendly bunch on there so don't be shy, jump in, get posting and enjoy meeting new friends, in the cyber sense of course.
Good luck with your move
