Hi, and welcome to the forum!
From another post I gather you're an electrician, in which case it wouldn't be advisable to try France, as the standards are so much different here. Also you'd have problems if you don't speak French (bureaucracy, getting French qualifications to sign off work, potential French clients, ....)
This also applies to other European countries and if you haven't got a second language, then it might be advisable to ask directly on the Republic of Ireland forum, or other English-speaking islands and maybe the Netherlands/Scandinavia where everyone has English as a second language, although the economic crisis is still rife everywhere on the Continent...
Good luck, wherever!

Hi,
Yeah thankyou for your response.I do speak a small amount of french (Nothing Major Though) It seems everybody saying 'wow an Electrician everybody always needs an electrician' doesn't really seem to be the case in my experience.I sent out 54 CV's last week and got 1 response.I have tried to go self employed website/5000 flyers posted/business cards printed etc..500 views a week to my website,Not even a single call..Its just got to a point, where ive thought.I need to get somewhere where my skills are more 'needed' I'm not saying there is NO work in the UK,It just appears that every approach that i try seems to backfire! PHEWWW Moaning outta the way..lol...Where in your opinion do you think will be best for finding work?

Many thanks
Daz

Can't help, I'm afraid, except to advise against France! There used to be a dearth of electricians and plumbers here, and many youngsters were encouraged to do the Professional Bac or an apprenticeship. In my area, they are now well established working for themselves, but are branching out into other fields in order to have a decent income, as the competition is so great.. And those who took the Bac have adequate English to communicate with expats. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I'm being realistic.
All the best!
