Hey there - hope I'm in the right place - Looking to move to the US
Hey everyone and thank you for having this site - its been really educational and quite scary too - I've got such a long way to go I think.
Not sure where I should be posting my questions - and I have a lot!!! Looking to settle in the US and am near suicidal with the trauma that I've gone through this past year - really really need some help
Hope you can point me in the right direction
many thanks
G

Unless you are an American or married to a USC the US is one of the hardest countries for Brits to move to...I'm assuming you're British. First of all take a read through this...if you fit into any of the categories then you could be in with a chance.
I'll give you a few relevant links to get you started. Questions regarding the immigration process should be posted in the US Immigration and Visas forum. General questions about life in the US should be posted in the US Forum. The Trailer Park is for general chit chat.
If you require any assistance finding your way around BE's many forums we have a team of concierges who will act as your tour guide...they will be pleased to help you. The concierge for the US forums is Kaffy Mintcake...please contact her if you need pointing in the right direction.
If you have any problems or concerns please contact a mod or admin. The mods for the US forums are Bob and MsElui. Although you can contact any mod or admin...there is usually one of us around 24/7.
Please give me a shout if I can be of further help. I look forward to seeing you in the US forums.

Re: Hey there - hope I'm in the right place
thank you so so much for replying - yep I'm British and my partner is a USC - I'm so very tired of all the abuse I've gone through here with my soon to be ex husband - I'm just thinking of running and not coming back. The thought is so very tempting at the moment - but I have a child here who I would never ever desert.
The thought of spending the next 8 months here waiting for a K1 is unbearable

I'm sorry to hear that...hopefully you can put it behind you now.
It's excellent that your partner is a USC...but you may have difficulty if you want to your son to move to the US with you as you will need his father's permission. Good luck.
