Hello!!
Hello
My name is Andy and I am just about to start the process of moving to New Zealand. I have read many of stories, good and bad, on the internet about Teachers doing this. Anyone here with personal experience of doing this, I would love to hear what you have to say.
I would also love to hear what it's been like moving your children down with you.
Thanks!!

Re: Hello!!
Hi Andy and welcome to BE
best place to ask this would be in the NZ forum New Zealand - British Expats
When posting in there it may help to say how far along the visa process you are and what visa you would be applying for. Most teaching positions have been removed from the skills lists and I know teachers that have gained their qualifications in NZ are finding it hard to obtain ft positions. but it does depend on where you are willing to go by all accounts.

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum- follow the link Mrs Fychan gave you and pop over to the NZ section. There is also a section in the 'working abroad' section just for teachers, although it is not NZ-specific so I'm not sure how much useful info is in there; probably worth checking out Teaching - British Expats
What level do you teach at? And if secondary, which subjects? Both these questions will make a huge difference to your job and visa prospects here

Re: Hello!!
Hello and thank you for the welcomes!! I will pop across to the other forum later.
I have taught from Pre-schoolers up to Senior School age. I have also taught, and loved, children who get put into pupil referral units after being chucked out of school. I would ideally love to teach senior school and put my Maths knowledge and Physics PhD to use
;-)
