Greetings from Dorset
Hi,
First post, joined after reading great site.
I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but.....
We have just started process to move to Oz on contributory parent visa,(piggy bank soon to be empty).Daughter went in 2010 for a year and never came back, we have visited twice(6 and 3 months) in last 2 years, now son, electrician, is going soooooo we are to, im 54,retired,other half 47,optician...
My parents are elderly in good health and will be a wrench to leave them, they were my rock and support when first wife died 20 years ago, full time job and two kids under 10,etc etc.
I was wondering if there are folk out there with similar experiences, with regard to joining children and how they got on, good and/or bad.
Thanks
Mick

Hey there and welcome to British Expats .
Can't help with this as we moved to New Zealand , not Oz, on the back of my husband plumbing quals . I was knocking 50 at the time but we have no kids.
Anyway, pop on over to the Australia forum ( click the link) and have a good mooch about.
