Forces move to Las Vegas.

Hi All,

I am new on here, having recently found out my husbands next posting is to Las Vegas I am trying to gather as much info as possible! We move mid August 2013.

We have two children and a dog who will be moving with us. As its a forces move, we are fortunate that the military organise our visa's, movers, accommodation for the first two weeks we arrive, cars etc. Which leaves me to research neighbourhoods and schools!

I would greatly receive any tips or info which you think may be useful to me. We are given a housing allowance which means once we arrive we find our own house, so we have freedom of neighbourhoods and schools, private or state. Any advice or info?

Thank you for giving me your time :) I really appreciate it.

Hi Clancey,

Welcome to BE. We have quite a few people in that area so I'm sure they will be happy to share their experiences.so have a look around the USA forum and get to know everyone and post away in there. I'm sure you will enjoy being part of our community.

Congrats on the move. How old are your children?

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Rosemary
