Default Considering a move to Australia as a single parent

Hi,

I am a single parent to an 8 year old. I have just finished uni where I qualified as an occupational therapist. I would love to work in Australia for maybe 2 years but I am worried as to what it would be like with it just being the 2 of us. Has anyone ever done this? Ideally, I would like to move somewhere like Sydney but realistically it will be wherever work is available,

Thanks

Hi Stealthpenguin

First of all welcome to BE
I can't answer you on anything Australia, but we do have a dedicated Ausralia forum where there are plenty of expats who live there to give you tips and advice. You will find this forum by clicking on the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page, scroll down the countries, double click on Australia and you're in. Just say hi and repost your question in thre and I am sure you will receive plenty of responses.
Other than that I say go for it - why should being a single mum be a barrier to fulfilling your dreams - and your 8 year old would probably love it there too.

All the very best with your plans and congrats in your uni result
