Default Capital gains tax

I am British, my husband is Lebanese.we live in The Middle East. We bought our house in both names in UK in 1986.
I lived in it from July 1986 until July 1987. It has been let out since then except for a few weeks some summers when we returned to it. my question is about Capital Gains Tax, if we go back and live in it and then sell it or if we just sell it, will we be liable for capital gains tax? What is the best way to do this?

Hello and welcome to the site.

I notice you have already reposted your questions in our MBTTUK forum.

We have a very lively Middle East Forum...why don't you pop over their and introduce yourself in the Introduction thread?

If you find yourself a little lost navigating the many BE forums...we have a team of concierges who will direct you around the website. The concierge for the Middle East forums is Blue Cat...please contact her if you need any help.

If you have any problems or concerns please contact a moderator. The mods for the ME forums are Bob, NorthernLad and rowell.

Please shout out if you need any help...there's usually someone around 24/7 to help out.

As this forum is not a discussion forum...I have moved the posts discussing capital gains tax to the OP's other thread in the MBTTUK Forum.

Thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to reply.
