australian to uk license

australian to uk license
hi,
I have moved to the uk in 2014 and am now going to buy a car here I have a full Australian (car) driving licence and would like to swap it over to a uk liciense. I know the australian card will not be returned to me but if I go back home (to Australia) will I be able buy another license card and continue driving on my Australian license? or will my license in aus be cancelled fully?

When you return to Australia you just swap your GB licence back for an Australian one. I would make a photocopy of your current Australian licence so that you can ensure you are regaining your full entitlements on your return.

Nope. All you will exchange is the physical photocard - the actual licence itself, i.e. your test results, remain the same. After all you are only being issued a GB photocard on the basis of your Australian driving licence.
