Default Arriving in Melbourne in August

Hi,
My wife and I arrive in Melbourne in mid Aug from the UK. Very excited about our move and would love to hear from anyone in Melbourne area. Just celebrated my 40th Birthday in London and said goodbye to family & some great friends but could not let this adventure pass me by.

We are initially going to be located in the SE Subburbs near Bentleigh but will find somewhere more permanent after hopefully getting a job!

My hobbies are watching and playing most sports, investing (with mixed results) and the odd night out / in albeit not sure I will be able to afford to do much of that sort of thing in Australia.......

Hi Ed and Welcome to BE

I've only been in Australia a few months and in the wrong state. Have a look at the Australia forums for lots of good info and advice - the locals don't bite (usually LOL ) - http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=54

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
