New soon to be expat. Due to move to Irvine California
Hi,
I just thought I would post to introduce myself as I've been lurking on the forums for a little while now.
Myself, my wife, and 11-month old son are due to move to Irvine California, from Cambridge, in the comming months. We're looking forward to it with equal measure of excitement and trepidation!
Cheers
Rob

Re: New soon to be expat.
Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Welcoem to BE. I'm so pleased you have come out of lurk mode and decided to dive in. I'm sure you will enjoy being part of our community and I hope to see you on the board over the coming weeks and months.
The USA forums are full of info, banter and chit-chat so don't hesitate to dive in.
If you get stuck on anything there are plenty of us around to ask. We are happy to help in anyway we can

Hi Rob
Welcome to BE.
As Sue has mentioned above, I would recommend you check out the USA forum, which is full of great information for anyone off to live in the States, and I am sure you will find pleanty of expats on there who are living in and around Irvine, so you can start making friends in your new neighbourhood to be.
You will find the USA forum by clicking the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page. Scroll down the list of countries then double click on USA and you're in.
Finally I wish you all the very best wish your move
