Whats the Social Media policy at USCIS/ConOff
Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone knows whether or not the USCIS or the Con Off do any digging into potential immigrants? Not that I'm bothered as my Facebook feed is largely shares from Arnold Schwarzenegger, rants about Peyton Manning being past it and links from my fiance about cute puppies - but I do have loads of old email addresses that I haven't used in years floating around haha, including a dormant Twitter account that hasn't been used since 2010. Wonder if they do any digging on this sort of stuff?

I doubt they do, unless there is a reason to dig, say a criminal record, or unexplained travel overseas, BUT you should assume that they do.
I suspect that those people who experience an extended wait for their visa while it is in the "administrative processing" status, are being put through an intensive investigation that includes on-line records and social media.

Yeah that's what I figured - the only thing I'm concerned about are me talking to other girls before I met Allison (fiancé) on Twitter and stuff that haven't been used since 2011, but I'm sure they'll look at the dates and realise I was Twitter flirting before I met Allison lol
...unless of course we get the worlds biggest Dez Bryant fan, he was the cause of a lot of angry Facebook posts because of his fantasy football stats!

Might not be relevant to USCIS, but potential employers can and often do nose around applicants' social media accounts.

Aye I know that, part of why I was curious

They are probably more concerned with sharing of terrorist related materials than cheating on your ex.

I didn't cheat on anyone, just for clarity, when I say I was flirting with some girl on Twitter - I was single at the time, and then I met my my now fiancé a year later. No cheating was involved, lol

You seem very defensively all of a sudden :-)
Yes they are known to check online, even this forum. Unless you are involved in illegal activities (primarily terrorism, drugs or visa fraud) stop worrying.

Thanks for your reply though! I figured that would be the case
