What medicine I need to bring to US for my children ?

Before my doctor finally retired and would write a prescription for her to send to me for free, they were 1000mg.
Not to be taken all the time, mind, just as needed, but I had a bit of a issue with my ankles from an old sports injury.

Thanks to all who replied. It's very helpful. My son is not worried about the biscuit anymore and he is a much happier little monkey now. And me, I know better what to bring now. Great , one thing I can cross on my list, another 200 followed. That's the Beauty of international moving
Thank again ! I wish you have a great weekend.

From the UK I bring...
Bonjela (especially if you have babies who are teething)
Opticrom allergy eye drops (or equivalent sodium cromoglicate eyedrops from Boots)
Anthisan for mosquito bites
Lemsips
There may be equivalents here but either I haven't found them or they taste like crap.
Instead of Piriton I use Benadryl here in the US - it has a similar effect (dampens down reactions, makes you drowsy).

Thinking of medicines / cremes /etc ... One random thing that you may want to bring that I've seen in the UK but not here is sudocrem.

Any medicines can cause problems when you pass through customs.
Controlled substances (like but not limited to codeine) can't be brought in at all without a US prescription. With regular prescription medicines you can only import 50 dosage units. Even rather benign OTC medicines might cause hassle too if only because of the US .v. UK naming confusion.
I would carry in only what you absolutely need!

And for bites, I use that horrid smelling ammonia in a stick type thingy that's cheap in Reny's, which works a treat.

My dad used to always bring back several pots of Sudocreme for eczema, razor burns, etc.

Oh I also brought over Metanium from the UK - never found anything as good here. My kids are out of nappies now, thank god, but we've still got some Metanium in the cupboard...

I didn't think either taste that great, so they're pretty much the same.
"Afterbite", is the most original name. It works on any stings, I've found...but don't scratch the bite and then put it on as it does sting a lot more that way

I forgot to mention I also bring back Zovirax cream or a generic alternative.
Last time I tried to pick it up as a prescription in the US the copay was $125. It might well be available cheaper now, but I just buy it OTC in the UK instead.

Interesting - Sudocrem is widely available here in Canada!
