If US is #1 why are there so many Expats wanting to return back to the UK related to poor Health Care?

US may have some top Health centres in the world but i GUARNTEE you 100%
if you are not wealthy, and just earning an average wage your health Insurance will not allow you to put one foot inside the door of one of these centres!
What use are they to you if you cannot afford to use them?

US = better, more thorough, and quicker, but damn sight more expensive, or completely unavailable for those who don't have coverage.

UK = "free", but less thorough, slower, and for some types of treatment, inferior (because of cost-cutting). But at least you do have the option of going private - which as far as I can tell, is less expensive than the private treatment in the US.

US does not only consist of these top Health Centres!

There are 1000's of Standard hospitals and 99% of health insurance companies will only cover you for the likes of these hospitals,
Not the top Health Centres!

I Totally Agree US is far more quicker than the UK

But in the US you got too many doctors that do not want to treat you as they wish you back and for in which to get more Co Pays and health insurance payments out of you. if they treat you for your condition they will not get any more money out of you and your health insurance company.

Where as in the UK they are far more slower but what ever your condition you will be treated for your condition as they do not want to waste money!

It seems you missed the amusing irony of the replies and have your own answer...so there's not much point to the thread, no?

The UK has what is called NHS / National Health Service.
There are also many private health Insurances available just like US these can be used particularly for any surgery required to avoid being in a waiting list, depending on how serious your condition is... if it is serious you will not have to wait.

Mean while you can get up the next morning and go and see a Doctor if your not feeling well, you may have to accept the doctor who is on duty that particular morning but if you wish to stick to the same doctor all the time you may have to book an appointment and wait a few days to a week.
