....cheers.

I paid half of what I usually pay when I fly with BA on their Tampa - Gatwick route. I'm trying to judge how bad TC would have to be for me to want to spend an extra $700 for BA. Either way I'm cramped up in a tiny seat usually next to some fat, flatulent lard arse.

I'd be fine with it if it wasn't for the outside toilets!

I will be interested what you think of it. For my trip in August MCO-MAN ($1250-1500 range and pretty booked up) is not currently less than TPA-LHR via Dulles ($1150 ish ). The hike to Orlando and from MAN to Bristol puts me off.

TPA-LGW BA is $1800 currently, and again Gatwick-Bristol is a pita.

Well, if you will travel in August...

I got mine for $740 round trip. The only way they couldn't make that worth it is if I have to flap over the Atlantic. Plus, I only have to go from Manchester to Worcester, so that 2 hour drive doesn't bother me too much.

Done far too many trips to the Stasi state of the UK recently for my liking. In no rush to return any time soon

Apparently their A330 aircraft have toilets downstairs from the main cabin.

The bad news is the seat plan only shows 3 toilets for 322 passengers.

Yeah the plan at Seat Guru isn't very detailed and I believe only shows locations rather than actual numbers of lavs:

SeatGuru Seat Map Thomas Cook Airlines Airbus A330-200 (332)

However photos on Airliners.net and also on this following page appear to show four lavs on the lower mid deck: Thomas Cook Airlines

Edit - Just found this video on YouTube that appears to show five downstairs lavs on this aircraft:

Just got back yesterday, have to report that actually it wasn't all that bad. Do bring your own headphones to plug into the entertainment screen unless you like just reading subtitles. The meals were pretty good, I feel like I got marginally more leg room than on a Boeing 777 and yes, the toilets are downstairs, 5 of them downstairs, two available at the back of the plane for disabled/can't be bothered to use the stairs passengers.

Wouldn't hesitate to fly fly with them again for the savings I made. Quite like the small scale of Manchester airport as well.

I've never heard of toilets downstairs n any aircraft (apart from the 2 obvious ones). Very weird. I guess if you aren't taking a load of cargo though, it makes sense to stick the loo's downstairs so that you can show horn more people on the main deck.

I'm flying with them MAN-JFK this Thursday. Best price I could get for a one way flight at a week's notice. I'll report in after arrival home.

Does anyone have any recent experiences flying long haul with TC? Looking at very last minute flights to Manchester within the next week or two but on certain dates the only direct flights available are Thomas Cook JFK to MAN. After looking at the reviews online about long delays and bad service we are wondering whether the long drive to JFK is worth the hassle or if it would be better to do connecting flights from EWR or PHL to MAN.
