Default Samsung EH5300 and BBC iPlayer

I purchased a Samsung SmartTV from Costco about a year ago.

Model UN40EH5300FXZA.

As stated elsewhere on this forum, it's possible to change the country in the TV settings, so that the TV apps for sets sold/used in the UK get installed. One must also use a VPN or DNS service to allow the apps to receive content.

All was well and good for a while; BBC iPlayer worked fine, then it developed a problem. I can get audio from iPlayer programs, but video is just jumbled lines, so it's not useable. The other UK apps (4OD, ITV etc) are still working, so it's not being blocked I think. There is now some compatibility issue using iPlayer on this TV, or maybe other Samsung SmartTVs.

Has anyone else seen this issue, or do you have a Samsung TV with iPlayer still working?

If anyone wants to get iPlayer working on their Samsung SmartTV for the first time, I'd be willing to post a how-to.

Thanks!
